What kind of space is this?
This is an online space for people who enjoy games and clear communication. You are not expected to keep up with fast or unclear conversations.
The channel is autistic-led, and the wider community supports people with different communication styles and social needs. That means direct language is encouraged, different communication styles are respected, and nobody is expected to mask or act socially “normal”.
Some people chat a lot. Some lurk quietly. Some communicate very plainly. Some want to infodump about things they love. All of that is fine here.
The community
The Discord server is not just for stream updates. It also has social events that happen separately from the live streams.
Some people join mainly for the community space itself, including Sunday games night at 18:30 UK, and that is entirely welcome.
Sunday games night is open to everyone, including strangers, and is designed for people who want structured social time without pressure to talk constantly or act socially “normal”. We also have automatic text-to-speech, so people who cannot or do not want to speak can still take part in voice chat by typing.
The aim is to build a space where people can talk, make friends, and feel confident that communication will be clear, moderation fair, and social pressure low.
You are welcome to join the Discord community whether or not you watch the streams.
How the space is run
- Clear communication. People should not be expected to guess what others really mean, or to work out vague expectations on their own.
- Fair moderation. Rules should be enforced fairly and consistently, and people should be treated respectfully.
- Different styles welcome. Long messages, short messages, direct wording, enthusiasm, and quietness do not affect whether somebody is welcome.
- No pressure to perform. You do not need to be witty, loud, or constantly available to belong here.
Why this matters to me
I am Robert, the streamer behind ElMagnificoGames.
As an autistic person, I know how exhausting unclear expectations, bad-faith readings, and poorly moderated spaces can be. I want to build something better: a community with clearer expectations, fairer moderation, and no expectation that people should mask in order to belong.
That does not mean everyone here is autistic, or has to be. It means the space is built on the understanding that people communicate differently and deserve to be treated fairly.
